Oppo went massive again in the market with the Oppo Reno 10x zoom which is camera device with a full large screen display, large storages, pop-up selfie camera in a new style and the design is quite very impressive. Oppo major aim of creating this the Oppo Reno is to showcase something different that compete with the likes Samsung high-end smartphones and apples.
OPPO RENO 10X ZOOM DESIGN AND DISPLAY
Oppo Reno 10x zoom feels quite heavy in the hand with a weight of 215g compared to the likes of Samsung S9 which weighs just 201g and the iPhone XS MAX which weighs approx. 208g. But notwithstanding, Oppo Reno 10x zoom features a very nice sleek design.
The device is made of glass back cover with not too much design like Tecno phantom 9 aurorae back cover or the Oppo F11 Pro marvel edition back cover, but it does have a unique feature that makes it stand out, it called the O-dot design. The unique design is a pinhead-size bump located under the camera lenses which major function is to raise the Oppo Reno 10x zoom up a little when placed on its back for extra protection and it also beautifies the back.
The O-dot is made of ceramic, colored in shining black and has been tested to a hardness of 8.5 Mohs for everyday use. The phone doesn’t support wireless charging upon its glass back and is designed in two body colors; Ocean green and jet black.
We have a 6.6’’ inch OLED display screen to the front with not notch, just full screen with a screen to body ratio of 90%, 2340 x 1080p resolution and a 3.5mm chin which is a good one and it protected using Corning Gorilla glass 6.
According to Phonearena; The panel is neither as bright, nor as color-accurate, as what you can expect from the likes of iPhone XS, Samsung S10, or OnePlus 7 Pro but it not by any means bad.
Another awesome feature is its brightness level which marks a pretty good score outdoor but the disappointing part is the minimum brightness level (2.3 nits), but not to worry, Oppo has tackled the problem using an eye comfort system which is seen on all 2019 smartphone.
OPPO RENO 10X ZOOM CAMERA
Now to what we have been waiting for, well we already know the Oppo Reno 10 x zoom is camera-centric, so let’s confirm it.
The device has a total of three cameras at the back with no visible flashlight. The primary camera is a Sony IMX 586 48MP lens with f/1.7 which is a blessing to Oppo fans, an 8MP wide-angle camera lens and lastly a 13MP telephoto lens. With all three cameras working together, Oppo has shown quite a good impression in the development of its selling point.
Reno 10x zoom covers quite an impressive focal-range from 16mm to 160mm. The device is further equipped with OIS and EIS to further get users steady images and videos when their hands are shaking with image stabilization accuracy up to 0.000145 degrees.
Now to the main selling point, 10x zoom. I assume this can zoom the moon. Since telephoto lens allows up to 5x optical magnification, Oppo then employed a hybrid zoom to further take it to 10x. The wide-angle camera and telephoto cameras don’t give the best result in a dark environment but will give you something good if its not really dark.
There is an ultra-night mode 2.0 which is AI oriented, an HDR technology, dazzle color mode, the portrait is better with upgraded lightning effects and software that differentiates between the object and the background.

Only one camera is made available to users for recording which is the primary lens. Users are denied the luxury of using the wide-angle and telephoto lens which is a minus because users have to depend entirely on digital zoom which makes the video quality take a hit down.
Oppo Reno 10x zoom rear camera supports 4K@60fps recording plus it uses OIS to produce nice footage and if a user goes down to 1080@30fps, he/she gets an EIS + OIS and note that the EIS is on by default and cannot be turned off.
To the front is a pivot structured that houses a 16MP pop-up camera with f/2.0 aperture, it also houses the receiver, selfie soft light, and the back flashlight.
The process of sliding up is said to be completed within 0.8s and has been tested to withstand over 200,000 routines, and if you scared of it falling off your hand in the middle of taking shots, well, according to Oppo, Oppo Reno 10x zoom features a drop protection mechanism which senses in real time when the phone is in free-fall and it automatically closes the camera to prevent damages just like what we have on vivo NEX and other flagships.
OPPO RENO 10X ZOOM PERFORMANCE
Oppo Reno 10x zoom is equipped with the latest chip from Qualcomm, Snapdragon 835 which is featured on many other flagship devices, then supported with an 8GB of RAM. The combination of the latest chipset from Qualcomm and the 8GB RAM will provide users with an indefinite outstanding performance from playing large games like PUGB, Asphalt 9, etc. to surfing the web, launching big apps, and multi-tasking.
There is also a well packaged internal storage of 256GB which can be further expanded using a microSD card compared to other devices with no memory expansion.
Reno 10x zoom is powered by a 4,065mAh battery capacity with fast charging technology (VOOC v3.0) which can power up the phone from 0% to full charge in just an hour and 24 minutes and a cooling pipe to lowering the device temperature by 13%.
Other features in this category include

OPPO 10X ZOOM OTHER FEATURES
As we can see, there is no physical earpiece when we look at the device, just screen. Well, the earpiece is located on a pivoted structure which houses the camera and it doesn’t pop up when a user is on a call but rather transmit audio through the screen which is cool.
There is no traditional audio jack on the Reno 10x but rather a USB Type-C headphone which is good for me and the Oppo Reno 10x zoom features an in-display fingerprint which is now a thing for every flagship in 2019.
Oppo Reno 10x zoom runs on the ColorOS 6 based on Android 9 Pie and is set to receive the Android Q update this year. The skin does still look a lot like the Apple IOS but re-defined to make it look better with more to come from ColorOS. Users get gesture navigation similar to what we have on iPhone X family, Xiaomi, and Huawei.
