This is Infinix Mobile Concept phone known as Infinix Zero X. The company’s concept phone is joining the best fast charging smartphone of 2021 with 160W system that can power the Infinix Zero X 4,000mAh battery from 0% to 100% in just 10 minutes.
Now, that sounds impossible, right? Well, we all know the world is evolving, and advance technologies come into the picture every day.
Below is a short video of the Infinix Zero X live charging session on Infinix Mobile verified page on Twitter. The video shows that the device starts to charge from 0%, juice up to 18% in just 1 minute, moved up to 58% in 5 minute, then getting to 100% just seconds before the timer gets to 10 minutes.
The fast charging technology is called the Ultra Flash which is designed and constructed around an 8C type of battery, and according to Infinix Mobility, it is 18% lower in terms of internal resistance in contrast with a 6C type of battery.
What is the meaning of C-Rate. Well, the C-rate numbers shows how fast a device battery (Lithium) can be juiced up (charge) and how fast it can also lose the juice (discharge).
In an update seen on Gsmarena, it was stated that the company created the charging pump technology which in real time converts the voltage going from the USB Type-C dedicated port to the voltage that is required to go into the Infinix Zero X battery.
This pump technology is designed to have 98.6% efficiency, and when being compared to Oppo’s famous fast charge pump, it did well. Oppo has a 125W system which reportedly has three parallel pumps that gives up to 98% efficiency, and in real life, the higher the efficiency, the better for the user simply because the leftover percentage points to 100% which turns to heat.
About the heat generated, well, the Infinix Zero X 2021 is designed with 20 temperature sensors which are dotted all around the device with the primary function to make sure the device remains under 40ÂșC.
I know you have a question about the heat level going above 40ÂșC. There is already a solution to that. If the device senses a heat level higher than 40ÂșC or electromagnetic interference, a kind of security protection gets activated to avoid any damage to the battery cells or the device itself. It was also learned that there are 60 security protection mechanisms.
The 160W charger seen above in the picture is built with Gallium Nitrate + Silicon Carbide semiconductors. The charger is built with different protocols which makes it useful for not only charging smartphones but Laptops with Type-C port.
Infinix Zero X according to the specs is built to support fast Wireless charging up to 50W. Going on the design, Infinix did some pretty cool stuffs on the Infinix Zero X. The device will be equipped with a 6.67â AMOLED curved screen display (1080p+). The curved screen took up to 88Âș of the side angle, and with that kind of magnitude, there is no room left for side buttons such as volume rocker and power.
Still on the design, we have a stylized text which reads “NOW” at the back of the Infinix Zero X. This is actually designed to boldly display their motto âThe future is NOWâ. And it is also part of their back cover color-changing (inspired by Chameleon) technology, which is designed based on electro-chromic and electro-luminescent technology, according to a report on Gsmarena.
The color changes from silver gray to light blue. The big “O” acts as notification light. Tells users the phone is plugged in and charging, and the rest of the back cover only changes from Silver gray to light Blue to indicate an incoming call or something else.
The big camera bump and lens on Infinix Zero X?
Yeah, we have a large camera bump housing similar lens design seen on some smartphones like Vivo and Xiaomi latest devices. The selling point of this device is not primarily the camera lens or photography features, but it can’t be left out of the discussion.
Infinix Zero X is the first Infinix smartphone to feature a periscope lens. On the device is a 135 mm lens which can zoom up to 60x magnification.
