Another cheap but highly equipped smartphone has been added to the U family of Elephone. I present to you the Elephone U2 with a 6th generation full-screen view, pop-up camera, huge RAM and improved AI oriented rear and selfie cameras.
ELEPHONE U2 DESIGN AND DISPLAY
Elephone U2 is built to please the eyes with a CNC AI-alloy process with a durable 3D curved glass material back cover and a nice texture to make it comfortable to hold. According to ELEPHONE, U2 is coming into the market in three colors; romantic-fiery mocha red with double cylinder dyeing process which interprets the romance of technology they said, low key amber blue and a mysterious elegant ceramic black.
We have an ultra-narrow bezel design with 3.48mm bottom screen chin compared to other flagships from top players like Huawei, apple, and Samsung with 4.5mm bottom screen chin. The narrower bezel is made possible using COF screen technology.
Elephone U2 features a 6.23 inches FHD+ full-screen display with 19.5:5 aspect ratio giving users a lager viewing angle with the optical sensor and infrared range hidden so well, it has up to 500 nit brightness, 5-point multi-touch, 2280 x 1080p screen resolution and a screen to body ratio of 93%.
ELEPHONE U2 CAMERA
The devices have five camera setups in total, triple at the rear side and dual for a selfie. ELEPHONE U2 is rumored to have a camera technology closer to what we have on Samsung S9 and Google Pixel 2XL.
The rear side comprises of 16MP + 5MP + 2MP camera lens with f/1.6 aperture which is a bomb. The lower the f-number, the better the image quality because it allows more light get into the imaging lens. The 16MP lens is the primary camera, accompanied by 5MP which is for depth sensing and the 2MP is designed for lightening.
Now to the pop-up camera; we have dual camera of 16MP primary camera and 2MP for bokeh effects (blur background). The cameras come with other features like face beauty, portrait mode and etc.
ELEPHONE U2 PERFORMANCE
The new MediaTek chip is adopted on the U2. Helio P70 is said to be faster with 12nm process technology and with the upgrade done on the chip, the AI efficiency is moved from 10% to 30%, 3D gaming performance improved.
The processor is accompanied by a 4GB/6GB RAM to speed things like multitasking and gaming launching and it houses a 64GB/128GB internal memory.
Elephone U2 is powered by a 3,250mAh battery capacity which is non-removable. The battery capacity is small but not to worry, we have a fast charging technology. There s also a power saving technology which optimizes the hardware and software for longer battery life.
ELEPHONE U2 OS AND OTHERS
The device runs on Android 9.0 without any customized UI (stock Android), and if you haven’t gotten the update on your phone, well it time to search for an upgrade because Android 9 pie runs very smooth with new features to offer and the minimization screen is now different from the previous version.
ELEPHONE pulled off another one here, the U2 has two fingerprint sensor; in-display and a side fingerprint sensor which is the first I have seen. The tech used for the face ID analyses 128+ invisible dots to make unlocking the ELEPHONE U2 more secure and fast, and it might not be the best but yeah, it tried.
Sound technology is another feature I like about the U2; an NXP Smart PA which gives a high-quality sound property. It supports 4G LTE, OTG and is equipped with USB Type-C.

Looking at the ELEPHONE U2, I bet you thought it expensive, well it not, the price of Elephone U2 is 87,000 naira for the 4GB/64GB version and 105,000 naira for 6GB/128GB.
