Oppo has given its users an alternative to the full-screen smartphone ‘Oppo Reno 10x zoom’ with a pop-up camera. Oppo has thought it through that it not everyone that likes the idea of a mechanized selfie camera and people are often afraid of its breakdown, so it launched another model; Oppo Reno Z.
OPPO RENO Z DESIGN AND DISPLAY
Oppo Reno Z has almost the same design specifications with the Reno 10x zoom but in a different color style. The Oppo Reno Z is coming in coming in Aurora Purple and Jet Black with a 3D sleek body design just like the Reno 10x zoom.
Oppo Reno Z features a 6.4’’ inches AMOLED waterdrop display to avoid the pop-up camera, an 88% screen to body ratio, eye protection by TUV Rheinland and the display is protected using a corning Gorilla glass 5.
Below is a gallery that shows the Oppo Reno Z design and display
OPPO RENO Z CAMERA
Oppo Reno Z sports a Sony IMX 586 48MP primary lens with f/1.7 aperture which is capable of letting in more light into the imaging lens to produce a more detailed shot. And it has a 4-1 resolution focus technology which helps focus or grab objects more quickly, the ability to shoot a 4K video @30fps, 1080p HD video shooting @30fps/60fps, plus its Electronic image stabilization for video shooting only works when shooting video on 1080p and 720p and there is a slow-motion video feature when shooting on 1080p @120fps, 720p @240fps.
The camera is accompanied by a secondary 5MP camera lens with f/2.0 aperture which is for depth sensing. Oppo Reno Z is equipped with a 32MP front camera encapsulated in the waterdrop notch with f/2.0 aperture.
Both the rear and the front lens performed a fine job both in the day and night with the Ultra night-mode feature supported by AI low light shot and backlit selfie.
The portrait comes with an extra feature, the lighting effect. Users get up to 5 stylish bokeh setting to choose from and according to Oppo “based on in-depth study and analysis, these styles’ bokeh intensity, color, and lighting settings have been fine-tuned to match a wide range of tastes.”
They added by saying “We also added HSL technology to automatically balance and restore facial tones for a sharper picture and optimized toning effect” which I find awesome.
OPPO RENO Z PERFORMANCE
Oppo Reno Z is equipped with MTK Helio P90 octa-core processor clocked at the speed of 2.2GHz, with PowerVR GM9446 GPU.
The processor is, of course, better than some Qualcomm mid-range chip and its AI-oriented. Oppo Reno Z is paired with an 8GB/6GB of RAM as a back up to the chip to make operation faster and a 128GB/256GB internal memory which cannot be expanded.
Oppo Reno Z runs on ColorOS 6 based on Android 9.0 Pie. The devices house a 4,035mAh battery capacity which is a big one, plus a fast-charging technology (VOOC 3.0) which uses a VFC flash charge algorithm.
There is game boost optimizer 2.0 and according to post found on their website, “The frame boost system can analyze the Oppo Reno Z mobile performance status in real-time while gaming and whenever it predicts lags, it adjusts the user frame rate and stability to prioritize a first-class gaming experience.”
Other features in the game boost 2.0 are
- Touch boost
- Game space for notifications
OPPO RENO Z OTHER SPECS
Oppo Reno Z supports 2G/3G/4G LTE. There is also Bluetooth v5.0 equipped on the device with GPS, NFC, USB Type-C 1.0 reversible connector and 3.5mm headphone jack port.
There is a new style fingerprint sensor which is the in-display featured on Tecno Phantom 9 too and many other smartphones in 2019, other sensors include; gyroscope, proximity sensor, compass, and accelerometer.
We have a sound technology system; the Dolby Atmos stereo speakers which are a good one. The device uses the phones receiver as the second speaker to achieve a stereo effect while it uses the Dolby Atmos to produce a cinematic sound quality.
OPPO RENO Z PRICE IN NIGERIA
The device is a cool device from Oppo with design to great performance but the only thing I find disturbing is the inability to extend storage to further have more space. I would have preferred a 64GB version that can be expanded up to 512GB instead. Oppo Reno Z ships out for approximately 134,000 Naira in Nigeria.
