Samsung has finally announced the launch of a smartphone that will feature an all screen display with a hole in its display for a selfie camera which is located on the top-left corner of the device screen. Samsung fans have been asking for something different from the edge they’ve gotten so far and they have delivered, the device will be officially available for pre-order on the 21st of December, 2018.
This type of display is said to be featured on the mid-range smartphones first after a decline of smartphones sales in their 2018 report. The device above is the Samsung A8s which features a triple camera at the back like the Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 edition, a 6.4-inch super Infinity-O display, and it performance is highly rated just like other high-end devices with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 coupled with either a 6GB or 8GB RAM with 128GB internal memory upgradeable up to 512GB.
This year, 2018, was a year for notch screen displays so I guess 2019 will be full of the infinity-O screen with foldable devices just like what Royole FlexPai and Samsung have shown us. Huawei is set to release its own device with the infinity-O Hole punch display called Huawei Nova 4 which is set to launch on the 17th of December, 2018 and to make the competition more interesting, Xiaomi is also setting up a launch of its own smartphone with 48MP AI camera lens with a similar display on the 26th, December 2018.
While still waiting for the rumored S10 to arrive, we don’t know which one among the three smartphones will be released into the market for sales first and the S10 is also rumored to feature the infinity-O display.
Samsung announced that up to 4-types of a display will be featured on its smartphones starting with the mid-range.
